Photo 2. This photo is a small area of site 1. The river is flowing from the upper right corner of the photo to the lower left. This photo shows a flow seam with the separation point at the corner of the rock that is sticking out into the flow. Behind the rock and to the right of the flow seam, small eddies are being formed. The reattachment zone is starting at the bottom of the image and continues beyond the photo.

Photo 3. This photo is of just downstream of site 2. The river is flowing from right to left. The flow is uniform at the far right of the image before it meets the bars and debris in the channel. There are a couple of small flow separations around the debris with one of them highlighted. There are lots of riffle zones farther down the channel on the left side of the image.
